Birthday Parties
MUSEUM BIRTHDAY PARTIES

Museum birthday parties are scheduled in three hour blocks - one hour for the party and two hours
for a tour. The party can be before or after the tour; parents are responsible for all refreshments,
decorations and paper products. Party planners may select a theme based on the education
department's school tour offerings or a general tour.

Parties should be reserved no less than three weeks in advance, but farther ahead is strongly
encouraged as the Museum's facilities fill up quickly and we must ensure that a staff member is
available to conduct the party and tour. No birthday parties will be scheduled during major museum
events such as May-Day or Octoberfest, after regular business hours, on holidays or when the
Museum is closed.

Requests for birthday parties will be booked by Sasha Duke, who will reserve an available space
(such as the lower Octo barn). Call 540-332-7850 from M-F from 830 a.m. - 5 p.m. and ask for Sasha.
On weekends, please leave a message for Sasha at extension 110 and she will return your call during
the business week.

The cost for a Museum Birthday party is $130; checks should be payable to the American Frontier
Culture Foundation, and designated "Birthday Party". A non-refundable 50% deposit of $65 is due
on booking; deposit must be received within 5 business days or reservation may be cancelled. The
remaining $65 is due one week (5 business days) before the party. If the Museum is able to secure
another booking to take the place of any cancellation, the balance fee of $65 may be returned if it has
been paid. The original deposit of $65 is non-refundable.
