“The Augusta Militia and Point Pleasant”

Here, he will look at how the Augusta militia formed in the 1740s and trace their steps through Lord Dunmore’s War until the cumulation at the Battle of Point Pleasant on October 10, 1774. Finally, he will explore the aftermath of the five month conflict that helped steer Colonial Virginia towards revolution.
Meet the Speaker:
Theodore Shuey served 37 years in the Army with commands at the Company, Battalion, Brigade, Task Force, and Division levels. Outside of the armed forces he served as the CEO of The TGS, Group, Inc., and Commonwealth Investment Group, Inc. He has served at the Chairperson of Board Of Director for the Woodrow Wilson Presidential Library, was the Past National Commander of the 29th Division Association, Former President of the Citizen Soldiers Education Foundation and the Virginia National Guard Association. He is the author of three books, EVER FORWARD! The Story of One of the Nation’s Oldest and Most Historic Military Units , The Omaha Beach Guide, and Sunrise, Sunset.
