Frontier Culture Museum Volunteers

Community volunteers at the Frontier Culture Museum are essential for making public history accessible. From greeting visitors, driving a shuttle, or packing gift bags, many opportunities are available. Some volunteer positions require an on-going commitment, while others are one-time or on-call activities. We welcome volunteers from all stages of life. Students with community service requirements for school or service organizations may fulfill their commitment at the museum. You must be 17 or older to be a volunteer at the Museum. The Museum strives to place volunteers in appropriate positions. All positions require an in-person interview and a background check.
Special Event Volunteers
The Museum holds many special events throughout the year including
Lantern Tours, Independence Day Celebration, and Cider Fest. Volunteers are needed for these events including: Greeting, Visitor Information, Driving Shuttles, and Event Setup and Take-down. Whether you want to interact with the public or do more behind-the-scenes work, special event volunteers should be able to work within a team, and be friendly, patient, and customer-service oriented. Special Event Volunteers typically assist the Events Director on weekends. Partial day shifts and all-day schedules are available.
Education Programs Volunteer
Education programs are the backbone of daily operations at the Museum. Education Programs volunteers support the historic interpreters by moving groups, introducing exhibits, and assisting with field trip timekeeping. Education Programs volunteers should be friendly, outgoing, and able to learn and retain historic information. Education volunteers typically are scheduled throughout the week, with morning and afternoon shifts available.
